Yes I have not blogged since march!? what? I am embarrassed to admit that but life has gotten in the way! I have actually spent this past year getting back to me! I have had bariatric surgery and have lost 202 pounds so far!! i have been working hard and living again!<br />Soo busy and not much time for creating. :(<br />Sooo... the reason for my post...I loooove to see others art spaces and realized i have never posted pics of my own space...this is mainly because it needs a major overhaul and a few coats of paint...someday i will get around to making "just perfect." The second one is made from all black pages! Its going to be so challenging for me to create with only black pages!! It measures 8.5 X 11. I have finished the cover for my black journal...here is the pic... To say I was frustrated is an understatement...I totally hate oil pastels! Her method is so very different from my own...and this just made me realize that there is a reason I do what i do....I'm one of those people that hate a buckled or wrinkled page in anyway...unless I intent it to be....She works with gel medium as glue....I loooove my glue sticks! I guess I pretty much stick to "dry" mediums...<br />So I restarted my page again, creating with my comfortable mediums...I thought I would share exactly what I did for this page...this is how I usually work....<br /><br />I start with an image I absolutely love...for this one I stayed with the black and white image from the lesson, I did really love this part of it...I also liked that she shaded with charcoal BUT...hated that it smeared so I shaded with my black colored pencil instead. (whenever I use colored pencils...I always blend with a blending stump and turpenoid...its a must with me!) I glue images down with glue stick. Usually I work with colored images, but since I didnt this time I colored with colored pencils the images and blended them. I didnt want the background to stay white so i used my pan pastels to color and shade the background...I usually do this unless I am creating on a decorative paper or leave it white. I will add journaling next, but I have been scanning my pages before journaling...I dont know why but I am NOT happy with my journaling letters, I need to take a class on that! I always say, gosh, i liked this before I journaled!
